What a perpetual position represents

CoinBoltX displays Hyperliquid perpetual markets. A perpetual contract gives price exposure without a fixed expiry. Going long benefits from a rising price; going short benefits from a falling price, before trading costs and funding.

A perpetual is not the same as holding the underlying token. Its balance, margin requirements, liquidation mechanics, and funding need to be considered separately from spot holdings.

Collateral is different from position value

Leverage increases the exposure supported by your collateral. For example, $50 of collateral at 2× leverage corresponds to approximately $100 of position value before costs and venue constraints. A 1% move on that exposure is approximately $1 of profit or loss before fees and funding.

The same amplification applies to losses. If collateral becomes insufficient under the venue’s margin rules, the position can be liquidated. An estimated liquidation price can change as account conditions change.

Read the ticket and monitor the position

Review the selected coin, side, available collateral, leverage, funding rate, and execution tolerance. After an order fills, use Positions to monitor it and history to review completed activity.

A stop is an execution instruction, not a guaranteed fill price. Price gaps, liquidity, and service interruptions can affect the final outcome. Select exposure you can manage rather than treating the maximum permitted leverage as a recommendation.
